Posted on 10/05/2008 by: lily User Rating: 5 i had dinner and drinks today with 8 people. the food was excellent,especially the lobster. we had a wonderful waiter and the female helper he had was so sweet and bubbly. we made a comment to the manager on our way out that we will be back again since we had a great time and we enjoyed the music. i highly recommended this place as one of the best on woodcleft ave. see you real soon!!!!

Waitress either drunk or strung out on drugs and repeatedly could not get order straight. Asked to correct an order that came with 3 soft shell crabs and fries when my wife wanted a baked potato instead, one of the crabs on my wife's plate disappeared, then she denied that she had brought 3 to begin with. I should have called manager over right then and there. Fortunately my wife did say something to the manager on the way out. Also I might added we never received our salads, repeatedly had to ask for bread, and At least my lobster was pretty good (should be for 2 pounder at $49.95). The soft shell crabs were good - at least the ones that didn't manager to disappear. This was quite unfortunate as we have actually had several nice meals on the waterfront outside. We only decided to eat in the inside portion of the restaurant at the last minute since there was a wait for the outside patio - in hindsight we should have just stayed outside and waited.

Posted on 08/31/2007 by: pele807 User Rating: 2 "You've got to be kidding me" was my response when I walked down by the water to look at the boats and my girlfriend comes back to me and tells me that the 100 dollars I gave her to pay the bill was not enough??? The meals were nothing but glorified appetizers. The kitchen gives you this yellow rice that tastes like paper mache and then they throw a couple of scallops on your plate next to it, best of all it is only $23. And I'm still hungry. So I eat the bread and the stale crackers. And I'm still hungry. So I eat my salad with Blue cheese dressing that has NO chunks of blue cheese. Did I mention that the waitress had an attitude? I don't even care about her attitude and the fact that she didn't even smile once, or that she delivered the appetizer before the silverware, or that she didn't wipe the sticky gunk off the table until five minutes after we asked, or that the beer was served in plastic Dixie cups. What I do care about is that there was nothing good about our experience at this restaurant, from the PMSing waitress to the meager portions fit for a hamster for the same that you'd pay in a fine dining establishment, to the poorly managed service, to the sticky table, to the sand in the baked clams. This was one of the worst tourist traps I've ever been to. My advice: go somewhere else and save your money and aggravation. Only upsides: great strong sangria (buy it takeout for the road), good music (the guy singing was covering classic 50s tunes), pretty waterfront view of the marina, and al fresco dining with ashtrays for those who choose to smoke.

I and my family & friends went there for my birthday and if it wasn't for the fact that we had 2 hungry kids with us we would definitively got up & leave! From the moment we ordered till they got the appetizers an hour has passed and that after we asked the couple of times... The portions are a joke for the prices that they charge, not to mention the presentation! For example we ordered fried shrimp and when they brought the plate I honestly thought that perhaps it was a mistake: there were 5 medium size shrimps just �thrown� on an empty big plate! I don�t think it would have cost them too much to least put a lettuce leaf underneath the shrimps so they don�t look so pathetic on an empty plate! But the prices...uhhhh�that�s another story. We�ve tried different appetizers & food and all of them were like halved and looking terrible. Bottom line, we got up empty stomach and empty pocket after 1 hour of waiting to be served and let me tell you that was not for a hip & cool restaurant in Manhattan! It�s true that the fish ( catch of the day) was fresh but then again you kind of expect that when you go to a restaurant in Long Island, area of ocean front ( canal front in this case) . Do not waste your money and time to go there for dinner especially if you have a special event to celebrate!

The music acts are good, entertaining, the crowd is energetic. The food is good, (try the soft shell crab sandwich and the views are awesome. We love to have dinner here and watch the sunset and the boats drive by. **Jenn
