Captain Bens Fish Dock has been serving customers the finest quality seafood for over 70 years.

Captain Ben Bracco, at the age of 16, left his war torn homeland Trieste. He dreamed of a better life in the United States of America. His destination was a small fishing village in Freeport, Long Island.

Captain Ben called his home these same docks your sitting on today. In 1929 he purchased his own boat, The Sturgeon. His reputation as the best fisherman around was never challenged. Ben Braccos hard work paved the way for his only son Jerry, who presently transformed Captain Bens Fish Dock into a household name. People today, from all over the Island travel here to enjoy our high standards in quality. In adding to the family tradition, the third generation of Braccos are proud to bring you Braccos Clam & Oyster Bar. Captain Bens grandsons Michael, Jon, and Robert want to thank you for choosing and to spend your time with us.

Live reggae bands on Sundays in the summer and perfect place to grab a drink and hang outdoors. The down side is the food and the service!!! The food Sucks and the service is even Worse. Their slogan is THE FRESHEST FOOD ON THE PLANET... hahaha not on this planet. everything is either overcooked and dry or if its a greasy fried dish - make sure to bring some antacid. Maybe the owners think that hiring very young bubbly girls regardless if they are complete morons will help attract customers. Common sense should be a pre-requisite when hiring wait staff. The best is order an appetizer about 20 min before you put in your entree order and see if you get your entree first. Of course thats after being sat and waiting almost 15 min for a waitress to ask if we wanted a drink, then another 10-15 min to get that drink. It would have been faster to just browse the fish market next door, clean it, bring it home, cook it myself and still had time to spare. I will be back, but only for drinks!
